Having been in the industry since 2005, I've got a few years of doing hair under my belt, but I'm still just as obsessed with hair as I was 12 years ago.
Some of my favourite hair specialities include creating soft, dimensional natural colour, as well as corrective colour and dramatic changes (including dimensional vivid, rainbow and mermaid hair!) For cuts, I like detail-oriented precision work and/or working with natural texture to create easy, low maintenance hair styles. Encouraging natural wave, and creating shaggy, tousled texture makes my heart sing!
I tend to draw inspiration from almost anywhere - anything in nature, the people in my day-to-day life, as well as other industry professionals over social media. When it comes to style, I draw a lot of my ideas from music culture and the past decades, heavily leaning toward the 1960's-1970's.
Some of my more memorable moments in hair include collaborating with other artists. I love working on music videos & photo shoots, but it's also really great just being behind the chair. You get to be there for all of life's important events and major changes - anything from new jobs, weddings, funerals, to baby's first haircuts and more. Making a personal connection with people is something I find really special!
One of my current favourite styling products is the R+Co Badlands dry shampoo paste. It gives instant volume and thickness to limp hair, with a bit of a rough rock'n'roll vibe. My faithful standby for blow-drying will always be Kevin Murphy's Anti.Gravity blow dry lotion. Love it!
In my spare time, if I'm not at home snuggling with my two cat-babies (Pizza and Burger) then I'm likely partaking in something music-related! I play drums and sing in bands, and often find myself at local watering holes taking in the city’s richly talented music scene.

“Build a good name. Keep your name clean. Don’t make compromises, don’t worry about making a bunch of money or being successful — be concerned with doing good work and make the right choices and protect your work. And if you build a good name, eventually, that name will be its own currency."
